Details: 1978 Jaguar XJ6 LCondition: Excellent Interior: Red Plush Exterior: Pearl White high GlossLocation: Cullowhee, North Carolina recently moved from California so this is technically a California car as far as its condition so there is no winter wear on body as I currently keep it covered to keep it out of the weather.Description:Well maintained XJ6L. This car has been serviced and is 3/4 restored as needed making this classic a great investment. Interior features include an Italian wood signed Nardi steering wheel, excellent wood accents and Plush red seating and flooring. Red door interior also with plush accents. Beautiful White Pearl Paint, True wire rims with Jaguar cats in impeccable shape complement the chrome and paint. tires are in equally good condition. 4-door, exceptionally nice, rust-free, automatic with overdrive, heater, drive anywhere, dependability, and an awesome thrill to drive! Additional Detail:Brakes - New cross drilled high performance rotors, upgraded 4-piston tempered calipers w/new brakes less than 2,000 miles on brake system with upgraded flexible high-performance brake lines. Engine - 4-bolt main Chevy 305 (for better gas mileage) engine has been bored 30 over for better performance. Has high performance head, gold race rockers upgraded lifters, and race pins in the Holley quadrajet carb. Carb has thick spacer plate added as well for better fuel mixture delivery and air. Engine has upgraded cam and much more, the engine has been completely re-machined inside and very solid, dependable. Since a thorough going-through, the engine has had a max of 5,000 miles put on it, just barely enough to start breaking it in. It also has an upgraded distributor that is high performance as well and self compensates for changes.Tranny - I forget the type but its the same one that goes with the T1 Engine (if you list the types I can confirm which one it is, I forget off the top of my head) and has had a crisper high performance shift kit in it and has overdrive, with the Dana rear end with the tall gears of 3.88 it goes 65 at 13oo RPM on the freeway when you kick it in overdrive, barely idling when other cars are working hard. However due to the tall gears, it is slow to gather speed from a stop unless you manually work the automatic tranny, then you can push the gears to perform well with the shift kit. Radiator - was upgraded and hot-tanked and redone to add a larger radiator for cooling (did I say it was a desert pup in California, lol) Exhaust - 2 1/2 pipes, Customized as well fully completed with horn dumps before the rear axle and camelback headers to open up the air flow and get her breathing great. Still in new shape done the same time as the engine machining. Dual gas tanks have also been linked so you don´t have to switch between the two. Interior has original working clock (very hard to find). All (Complete set for every rubber part that goes on the frame) New Rubber Body Parts still in box with all new inner outer wheel bearings. This includes the rubber and bearings that go in and around the rear end to restore all of that to brand new. Over $1400.00 worth of rubber body parts and bearings that are still in original Jag packaging. That is wholesale cost not retail, that would be higher as I had a business license when purchased. I had never gotten to this upgrade yet as it should be done when body is repainted when it is needed.The stuff I have not upgraded and renewed yet is the wiring system - It functions but still needs to be replaced as it is old. The carburetor needs a little timing adjustment to suit how you want it to perform. The breathing system of the engine still needs to be polished off at your leisure by adding a blower, fuel injection or the hood will need to be cosmetically altered later to add a full sized high performance air breather of your choice as it currently sits right under the hood so there is very little room with the current breather when the hood is closed. I also have the original breather as it was a requirement for smog in California. It still needs a customized dust cover for the flywheel area between the engine and tranny underneath, I have not been able to find one yet for it and have been looking for years, so a foil will need to be manufactured at any mechanic´s shop unless you find one that fits well. And the speedometer cable was replaced and is new however it went out again one day when the gas was romped on and it was dislocated by where it attaches in the engine compartment since it runs along the underbody near tranny it pulled it enough to make it not function the gauge, I have not gotten it re-attached as I always drive by RPM´s anyway.As you can see, I know and love my Jag well and have taken the time and money to have almost completed her, minus a few leftovers. I am selling her to someone who can finish her up and love her for the special vehicle she is and enjoy the wide open road. I live in the mountains now and can no longer take her out as much as I would love to due to the weather up here and want to see her be appreciated for the joy she can bring. I have no idea how much to charge for her as I have put a ton of money into her and she is worth every penny. there is still a bit more to be done but she is perfectly roadworthy. So I am hoping to find her a good home where she can be completed and enjoyed as I do not seem to have the time.Please send me what you think is her value to you and let me know if you have the capabilities or resources to enjoy her as much as I do. I have changed the oil every 3k mi with mobile1 high miles synthetic, and use only premium gas. When I bought the car I had a full tune up and flushed the radiator. The check engine light is on and was on when I bought the car over a year ago. It is a catalytic converter sensor . The sunroof also does not go back. There are some dings on the hood, I´m having it painted soon and the dings fixed, and when I do the price will go up. That is all I know that is wrong with the car. This car is my daily driver. I would prefer a later model honda, nissan, toyota small car of equal value. I´m not desperate to trade or sell. I am a sales rep and I want to see what is out there to trade.
