Details: If you do your research you will find that the AJ-V8 motors that Jaguar used in the early S-Type models had nikasil liners in the cylinders which did not react well with hi-sulfur petrol. Jaguar later changed to the more common cast iron cylinder liners in these motors. I located a company in California that specializes in these motors and does a factory rebuild (including installing the cast iron liners) for around $2,400. The Jaguar is sold needing a motor - it is your choice if you would like to restore the vehicle of use it for parts. Has new Lemans tires and rims are in excellent shape. Interior needs cleaning but leather is in good shape. One fender alone on eBay is $375. I purchased this car to restore it but due to lack of time I am selling it as I need my garage space for another vehicle. The jaguar belonged to a prominent judge in RI and I have a bill-of-sale that he purchased the vehicle for over $23,000 8 years ago. Price of $1750 is FIRM. I resently changed the oil, it has newer suspention,fuel pump, had trans flushed and filter replaced,air filter, all the radatior hoses were replaced, all options work power windows, power seats, except for the high on the blower motor, it does have defrost still. It is really good shape. I was driving it for about a month and didnt run into any problems, but now the trans went into LIMP mode and is in second.The second car is a 1990 XJ6 94XXX, it has a MINT interior and exterior hasnt been running sence i baught it. I have been trying to figure out the problem put a new distib. wires and plugs. Edelbrock high flow intake and Edelbrock carburetor and billet air cleaner. Rams-horn exhaust manifolds.Conversion on the XJS done with the John´s Cars kit, which is widely regarded as the best of the available conversion kits for Jaguars. Car has original TH400 transmission, which has a shift kit installed. New torque converter. Car: 132k miles, less than 200 miles since engine and car rebuilt. All new suspension bushings, struts, shocks, brakes and rotors. New custom exhaust system. No gas tank leaks (common problem with this car). Brand new steering rack from the XJS-R.Car leather interior completely re-dyed and refinished. Leather looks great for its age. There´s some typical cracking of the wood on the dash. Car needs an alignment and there´s something going on with the steering such that it doesn´t run end to end smoothly. There´s an electrical bugaboo with the front blinkers. At the moment they both blink when you turn on the blinkers. Rears work fine. Lucas Prince of Darkness has raised his ugly mug again. Details: This unique Jaguar is in good shape, with no rust as it came from California, and runs very well.A GM 8cyl motor was professionally installed by the previous owner.The automatic transmission shifts well.The rest of the car is pure Jaguar, with an exceptional quality paint job and the unique lines that only come with a Jag. The interior leather is comfortable, but cracking in several places. The dash is cracked from sun damage, and the interior wood paneling is generally faded. The stereo does work. It has received new brakes, the gas tank and system were flushed and cleaned, and several steering and suspension components were replaced. The sale comes with a rebuilt steering rack that needs installation. The only current major flaw with the car is the current steering rack, which is loose and produces a heavy ´boating´ effect at higher speeds. You could certainly drive the car home, but you will want the steering rack put in.After that, you will have many miles with this car.Call or text 774-722-1422 or email.
