Details: PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST CAREFULLY BEFORE CALLING ME.Up for sale here is a 1985 Jaguar XJS HE (High Efficiency) Sports Coupé with 75,000 original miles and a clean title in hand.Here´s the skinny.... It starts up and runs, but does need some work. At the moment it´s sputtering pretty badly and I haven´t had time to get it looked at. I own three other Jaguars also, so getting this one fixed has not been a priority. When this engine runs correctly, it is a MONSTER! I´ve had it up to speeds I will not admit to in driving anywhere but the German Auto Bahn or a racetrack, and it feels like you´re going half as fast. It rides as smooth as silk!Condition-wise, the interior has seen better days. The wood dash has cracks throughout. I keep seat covers on the front seats because they need recovered. The back seat is a little better, but still not perfect. The body has a few small rust spots here and there, but overall the paint is still in decent enough condition for an everyday driver, and the car still looks sexy as hell on a roadway, especially next to all the other boring cars out there.I put brand spankin´ new Goodyear Integrity tires on it a short time ago. The car has been parked since I put them on, so they have ZERO wear.I am selling as-is in unrepaired condition, so you will need to either tow it yourself, or factor in a tow to the nearest auto service shop. (I recommend Newburgh Automotive, which is close, or M&M. Either of those will do good work at a fair price.) I wish I could tell you what´s wrong with it, but I just don´t know. It may be as simple as replacing all the plugs and wires, or it may be something else like a fuel pump going bad or injectors. Those would be my first guesses since the engine just acts like it´s struggling to maintain power. But I´m not a mechanic, so...Anyway, thanks for looking. Details: PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST CAREFULLY BEFORE CALLING ME.Up for sale here is a 1985 Jaguar XJS HE (High Efficiency) Sports Coupé with 75,000 original miles and a clean title in hand.Here´s the skinny.... It starts up and runs, but does need some work. At the moment it´s sputtering pretty badly and I haven´t had time to get it looked at. I own three other Jaguars also, so getting this one fixed has not been a priority. When this engine runs correctly, it is a MONSTER! I´ve had it up to speeds I will not admit to in driving anywhere but the German Auto Bahn or a racetrack, and it feels like you´re going half as fast. It rides as smooth as silk!Condition-wise, the interior has seen better days. The wood dash has cracks throughout. I keep seat covers on the front seats because they need recovered. The back seat is a little better, but still not perfect. The body has a few small rust spots here and there, but overall the paint is still in decent enough condition for an everyday driver, and the car still looks sexy as hell on a roadway, especially next to all the other boring cars out there.I put brand spankin´ new Goodyear Integrity tires on it a short time ago. The car has been parked since I put them on, so they have ZERO wear.I am selling as-is in unrepaired condition, so you will need to either tow it yourself, or factor in a tow to the nearest auto service shop. (I recommend Newburgh Automotive, which is close, or M&M. Either of those will do good work at a fair price.) I wish I could tell you what´s wrong with it, but I just don´t know. It may be as simple as replacing all the plugs and wires, or it may be something else like a fuel pump going bad or injectors. Those would be my first guesses since the engine just acts like it´s struggling to maintain power. But I´m not a mechanic, so...Anyway, thanks for looking. This Jaguar is the first year of the 300 Horsepower 4.2 V8 mated to a 6 speed ZF transmission which gives more power and better MPG (24 HWY) than the previous model. Car runs very well....very quick, very smooth (best handling I have found). Usual Jaguar refinements and factory standard options: heated leather seats, bucket seats in back, multi-disc changers, ABS, wood (Walnut) trim interior, rear sensors, chrome handles, 17´ rims, rain sensing wipers, etc. Luxurious, client-friendly, and a lot of fun to drive... This car is well kept and garaged; driven to work and to church. Brand NEW tires, steering rack, belts, and transmission (dropped in 1.5 years ago, came w/ 3 year warranty). Engine runs great (maintained by my father-in-law who is an engine mechanic). Non-smoker. Clean title. Current on all recommended maintenance.
