Details: 1972 Jaguar XJ6LModel: Series 1 4.2 EngineCar # UD 1L70076BWManufacture Date: 12/72This is a rare Jaguar Series 1 XJ6L. Being manufactured at the end of 1972, it was among one of the last ´Series 1´ XJ6 built, but one of the first with the extended wheelbase. Its body is in great condition with very few surface rust spots and absolutely no rust on the floorboards, frame or body. This car has been garage kept for the 25 years that it has been in my family as well as by the previous owner. All chrome is in very good shape. The paint is original and although it looks great from distance it certainly shows its age. Some minor body work on the hood and front right fender was started by its first owner and needs to be finished. (See photos)The engine runs great and the car has been driven only occasionally over the past 20 years to keep the engine in good working order. It does leak small amounts of oil but nothing more than you would expect for a Jaguar of its vintage. The carburetor was rebuilt a few years ago and the brakes replace at the same time. The left fuel tank need to be replaced although the right tank is fine.The interior has been nicely re-upholstered in black leather and also has a new headliner and carpet installed.New tiresWill email more photos upon request. I have recently high speed buffed the paint, shampooed the carpets, replaced the headlights(they were dull), tinted the windows, & cleaned, sanded & painted the brake calipers. As far as mechanical service or repairs, I have replaced the following: SPARK PLUGS, OIL & FILTER, BRAKE FLUID, POWER STEERING FLUID W/JAGUAR ADDITIVE, DIFFERENTIAL FLUID, CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, & FRONT BRAKES & ROTORS. The only service that I have not done is a transmission service. I would recommend it and can do it but the price will have to go to $7000.00. I´m only recommending it due too mileage.
